Michael Choukas '51 has been named headmaster emeritus of Vermont Academy. Choukas served as headmaster from 1965 to 1977, a tenure marked by the reinstatement of coeducation at the academy, before returning to Dartmouth as director of alumni affairs.

James Nachtwey '70 received the Infinity Award for Photojournalism last May from the International Center of Photography in New York City. He is a three-time recipient of the honor.

Bill Asher '84 has been named president of Vivid Entertainment, the world's leading producer of films for mature audiences. A former senior executive for Playboy Enterprises who helped establish the Playboy cable networks, Asher will direct Vivid s Web sites and cable channels.

David Seller '86, M.D., conducted a study named the top scientific discovery of 1999 by the American Heart Association. The Yale Med School prof's research found a gene essential to understanding the cause of an inherited form of high blood pressure in children.

Greer Goodman '87 has co-written (with her two sisters) and stars in The Tao of Steve, the "date movie of 2000," according to FoxNews. The romantic comedy debuted to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival last January and is expected in theaters this fall. It is her first film.

Riek Bartlett '89 and Tyler Dickson '89 will co-head the U.S. equity capital markets division for Salomon Smith Barney.
