I Greetings from the shaky Pacific Northwest!

An update from Wayne Pirmann: "Bill Buford wrote two books, Half Time and Game Plan. At age 42, a billionaire, he and his wife lost their only son to a rock-climbing accident. He looked at his past, present ('half-time') and future, and decided he wanted to start making a differencesome men (Covey) refer to this as 'leaving a legacy.' I must be in halftime (aren't all '72s?), for I find myself spending less time on my financial planning business and more time on three non-profits I chair: Bereavement Group (provides free advice and counseling to recent widows so they don't make hasty decisions in the environment of trauma), Legacy Planning Group (we connect wealthy donors to charitable institutions and maximize estate planning techniques) and START (Short Term Ambassador Relief Teams). God bless Dartmouth graduates." Wayne can be reached at waynecfs ©pirmann.com.

You surely remember gawking at Pilobolus' amazing dance routines, the group co-founded by Robby Barrett? Some recent news: They've recently debuted another innovative "dance, gymnastics high jinks, and bravura theatrical imagination" with Klezmatics, the New Yorkbased band which "combines Jewish roots music with postmodern experimentation." Here's how Robby's co-founder (and '71) Jonathan Wolken summed up what Pilobolus is (still) doing: "All our work is irreverent in the best sense of the word. It's all about broad investigation rather than scoffing and mocking. And it brings you back full circle to the relevant." Robby puts it this way: "For a decent piece it takes about two years until the work really stabilizes itself. Up until then the process is malleable. It's a process of pure discovery."

And speaking of those ancient memories 30 years back, to help prepare you for our 30th reunion next year (!!!), here are some tidbits from the spring of 1971: (1) Phoenix wins the chariot race during the Green Key Weekend; (2) Boz Scaggs and Steve Miller that evening in conceit: (3) gala 21st b-day fetes for roomies Peter Heed and Dennis Cullen, and lots more of you, too; (4) the Dilbert Dunker with Don Fennessey and Paul Malloy; (5) Rags Bratz's winning soccer goal in Sig Eps semi-final intramurals match; and (6) 572435, no-yes, in the big referendum.

So, keep those e-mails and letters coming!
