Bet most of you guys have never heard of DHART, pronounced "dart" by those in the know. It's the acronym for Dartmouth Hitchcock Air Response Team. Who said Hanover is isolated?
We only recently discovered that Francis P. Murphy Jr., who died in 1973, made a generous bequest to the college of $1.2 million for scholarships. Murph was a flying instructor after graduation until Tufts Medical School called, did research in psychiatry at Harvard MS, and served as an Army division psychiatrist in Korea. In 1958 he established a practice in Fort Lauderdale with a bachelor pad near the beach. Murph joins a select group of'44s who've given over a million to Dartmouth. The College was notified last fall after the death of a lifetime beneficiary, who was a lady friend of the bachelor psychiatrist.

And so, the remarkable business career of Jerry Brody earned that coverage in the Times of May 18, with photos of Jerry and of Gallagher's Steak House. A friend of ours served with Jerry on the city's "good works" committees. She says, "Jerry was a character, but no one did more to help the homeless in New York City."
