The dedication of the Class of 1969 Room in the Berry Library was lightly attended but was held with all the class and dignity befitting such an august occasion. Words were spoken and then we went to dinner. Present were Peter and Cindy Elias, Dale and Dianne Kessler, John Crane and yours truly. Nick Perencevich sent his son Jamie 'O4 as a representative. Jamie told us that our room is almost never empty and he was surprised that we were able to have it to ourselves for the ceremony. Hamp Rich and his wife met us for dinner. The room itself looks great. We have a display showing the front pages from four editions of The DailyDrepresenting various events in our tenure at Dartmouth. These will be changed from time to time. Joe Mehling is chair and sole member of the ad hoc committee in charge of this display. A week or so later, on May 26, John Crane and his partner, David Chambers, were joined in civil union (Vermont's equivalent of marriage for same-sex couples). John is the deputy librarian at Dartmouth and David is on the faculty of the University of Michigan Law School. The Dudley Kay Family has finally pulled the trigger on a longplanned relocation, transferring to Raleigh, North Carolina. "We have sold our nice little cape for an outrageous sum of money and bought a nice chateau in North Raleigh after months of searching and agonizing about Raleigh vs. Chapel Hill, meeting with Doug Nichols over breakfast, researching schools, etc. Best deals and highest comfort level came from the North Raleigh area. We bought a house with puh-lenty of guest room, including a finished attic suite with bedroom, full bath and living room that will hold a convertible sofa and/or air mattresses. So, we're very excited about the move and have a five- to seven-year plan to habitate there and then transition to the good condo life somewhere. My creaky knees tell me it's time to trade the racquet for the clubs. So, as Doug transitions to Cape Cod in his own voluntary relo to be close to a son at Dartmouth, the Kays take over as '69 hosts in Research Triangle, North Carolina. Hey, y all come on down and see us, y' hear?"

Paul Tuhus sent a quick note with nothing of interest in it except that the paper was taken from the Ritz-Carlton in Hong Kong and the envelope came from the Occum Inn while the postmark was from San Francisco. The boy gets around!

All for now. Take care and write.
