I promised myself I would never resort to a plea for news and I lasted a full two years. But these last few months have been rather quiet. I can usually count on a few of you to send me amusing e-mails, but now I'm feeling somewhat neglected by our classmates. We've spanned the globe with our fellow '89s, fondly recalled our winter memories, shared our millennium. celebrations and hopscotched across many of the 50 states. I would hate to think that you want to spend the next few years hearing about the details of my 5-month-old daughters sleeping schedule rather than take five minutes to dash off an e-mail to your devoted class secretary. Now that I've joined the parenthood ranks, I understand WHY many of you have absolutely no time or energy to stay in touch, but please try anyway. That said, here's what I've got.. ..I spotted Jennifer Large's picture in the wedding section of The New York Times in June, which was a pretty good clue that she had gotten hitched. Indeed, the paper of record informed me that she was married at her parents home in Hartford to Garrett Wyman, a vice president for development of the Edison Schools, a private manager of public schools. Jen is a graphic designer in New York. She received her masters degree in architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver. Perhaps there were other Dartmouth folk at the ceremony, but I really wouldn't know because none of you wrote to tell me (hint, hint)!

I've also resorted to scanning other class secretary's columns for news. Since most of you probably skipped the '9O and '91 columns last time, here are a few more tidbits. Dave Burke and his wife, Diane Mutti Burke '90, live in Kansas City with their children Matthew and Maggie. And Matt Holleran and his wife, Anouk Patty Holleran '91, have a son, Sam, who will be a year old in September. The Hollerans live in Mountain View, California.

Finally, the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine is planning to devote a cover story this winter to Dartmouth's "special places." Let's continue with our theme columns and do the same as a class. Please write or e-mail me with reminiscences about your favorite corners of the Hanover plain. I'll forward some of them on to the editor for inclusion in the cover story. The rest will be used here.
