PROFESSIONAL GOALKEEPER
This is a basic move, used in many parts of soccer for basically any type of long kick: clearing the ball from the defense, taking a shot from the offense, long passes, corner kicks and yes, goal kicks.
1. Put the ball down on a good, raised area of grass, so it is easy to get your foot under it.
2. Starting about five yards back, approach the ball at a mediumoaced run.
3. If you're right-footed, plant your left foot just to the left of the ball so that it points in the direction you want the ball to go. If you are leftfooted, plant your right foot instead.
4. Bend your kicking leg back and then swing through with your kicking foot, toe pointed to the ground. Contact with the ball should be with the laces of your shoe. Follow through in the direction you want the ball to go, and land back on your kicking foot.
