Thanks for keeping the mail- box (and thus this column) full. Roger Witten e-mailed me recently. Daughter Wendy '96 married Andrew Tannenbaum '97 in April 2001, an event packed with lots of '96s and '97s and three '68s (Roger plus Bill Adler and Bill Kolasky). Wendy and Andrew are both practicing law in New York City. Jill and Roger are on their way to 31 years of wedded bliss. Jill remains devoted to music, playing and teaching piano, while Roger continues as a partner and litigator at the firm of Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering in Washington, D.C. They get their New England battery recharge at their vacation home in Stowe, Vermont.
A couple of newspaper articles found their way to me: Bob Wade has been elected to the board of directors of the Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution. Other community efforts include past leadership roles for Goodwill Industries and the Portland Stage Company. His early career was with Hannaford Brothers, a grocery store chain; more recently, he is a co-owner of Casco Bay Brewing in Portland, Maine. Let's make sure we order some of his brew for our 35th reunion! Dick Noyes has been named CFO and senior vice president at Foster Miller Inc, an high technology engineering and development firm. After three degrees at Dartmouth (first and of course foremost a '68, then Thayer '69 and Tuck '72) Dick received a masters in finance at Bentley and more recently served as vice president for finance at Astra Pharmaceuticals. Dick lives in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Larry Barnet was honored as the 2001 recipient of the B'Nai Brith Covenant Award. His father (in 1959) and grand father (in 1951) had both won the same award, making him the first third-generation winner. He has had a passionate commitment to community causes, including his temple, the AntiDefamation League, the Park Playhouse, a regional Alzheimer center, the Albany Rotary Club and the Albany Child Guidance and Family Psychiatric Center. In his spare time he is vice president of the CSB Security Group Insurance Agency. He and wife Wendy (Sheber) have three children: Lauren is at Goucher College, Caryn a junior at Dartmouth, and Jeffrey a senior in high school. They live in Delmar, New York.
A recent phone call and e-mail from Bob Reich: As this column comes to press, he will likely have announced his candidacy for governor of Massachusetts. Find out more at his Web site, robertreich@org. The first campaign of his I remember was fall 1964, when he knocked on my door at 214 New Hampshire Hall. He won that race, I recall, and hasn't stopped since.
Hope the winter is in the home stretch for you all...keep the mail coming.
