We've been so excited watching Jay Fiedler shine in the NFL that it seems we've neglected another rising athletic star in our midst. Brad Ausmus, who saw postseason action as the starting catcher for the Houston Astros, was awarded a Gold Glove, an annual baseball award given to the best defensive player in a particular position. Congratulations, Brad, on receiving one of baseball's highest honors, and we'll be sure to look for you next spring! Here's a story for all you single people contemplating going to the next alumni club event in your home city: After finishing his M.B.A. at Michigan a couple of years ago, Bryan Comite joined McKinsey & Cos Seattle Office. Last January he ran into Erin Green at an alumni event. Erin is finishing her third year of law school at the University of Washington, and has accepted a clerkship with an appellate court judge in Seattle. Even though they were both govy majors at Dartmouth, Bryan and Erin never met at school. And now they are getting married in April in Erin's hometown of Spokane! Congrats to both of you! Car Silberfein writes from Chicago to let us know that she and her husband are now the proud parents of Connor Sobolewski, born May 18. "I am now balancing being a mom and a graduate student at the same time," writes Cari. "I'm currently working on my dissertation in neuropsychology." Cari will have more friends to share her parenting trials and joys with in the next few months, as Charis (Connell) and Noah Taylor are also expecting their first child this May, and Stacey (Tamaccio) Stone and her husband, Geoff, are also expecting twins, who have probably already arrived by the time you are all reading this. Cari also writes with more news of '94 friends: "Laura Schram is engaged to be married next October in Scituate, Massachusetts. Jon Newton is working hard on his M.B.A. at U of Michigan." Marshall Bass writes that "after more than four years together, Christina Perez and I were married in Peterborough, New Hampshire, on August 25. The wedding was a huge hit, with a grand total of 18 Dartmouth alums present, including 11 from our class: Pepe Ruiz, Brook Tarbel, Jeff "Pooch" Battema, Andy Awad, Mike Cicerone, Chris and Darcey (Forbes) Bartel, Liz York, Sarah (Power) Berglund (another newlywed), Jeff Yasuda and Jay Siegel." Just two days later Marshall began orientation at Yale Business School, where he must be nearing the end of his first year. Another '94 wedding took place on that same day in August in Massachusetts: Jessica (Keefe) and Jared Nylund were married in Needham, Massachusetts, on August 25. Dartmouth folks in attendance included bridesmaids Kathy Fidler, Sarah Stewart and Allison Krasnow '95, best man Chris Greenwald '93, groomsman Eric Kuecherer and the rest of us: Susan Cordero, Lisa Tarchak, Tracey (Revellino) Greenwald, George Kim, John Steiner and me. I think that was it. Jess and Jared are living in Concord, New Hampshire, these days, where they are both practicing law in the area. Congrats to all the newlyweds both in and outside of this column! OK, I'm out of news for the first time in about two years, so please send me more so I don't have to start making stuff up about you or do a Google search with your name to see what comes up. Hope all is well with you and yours these days. Take care.
