One of my most memorable post-Dartmouth experiences to date was the wedding of Tracey (Revellino) Greenwald and Chris Greenwald '93 at the end of August. Tracey and Chris (a.k.a. "Zeke") were married in the Green Mountains in Manchester Village, Vt. It was like a mini-reunion weekend for many of us, as we all made yet another trek up 1-91 to celebrate with the happy couple and the rest of our Dartmouth friends. The wedding party included Jared Nylund, Jonathan Harrington '93, Kevin Franck '92 Jess Burton, MissyWei, and me. Tracey and Zeke's wedding day was actually a symbolic rehearsal for Jess Burton and fiance Jonathan Harrington, as they will be married exactly one year later—August 22,1998. The many '94s in attendance included Amy Folsom, Veronica Doherty, BethMcFadden, Andrea (Fiorentino) Liebross,Kathy Fidler, Jenn Carroll, Kim Osgood,Jessica Keefe, Chad Kessler, and BillThibeault. Other Dartmouth folks in attendance included '92s Kenn London and Matt Wilson; '93s Chris Morse, Steve Hubbard, Rob Trenkamp, and John and Beth (Kellogg) Wolfe; a lone '96 Jodi Rudman; and a lone Tuckie Jeff Hastings. The newlyweds spent the next two weeks of their marriage in southern Italy and Switzerland before settling in to their new home in Concord, N.H. Tracey will be working as an associate for the Boston law firm of Testa, Hurwitz, and Thibeault, and Zeke will continue his job as the director of R&D for Pro-Cut International in New Hampshire—I'm sure they'll both be dreaming of southern Italy all winter long. Speaking of vacations, are you wondering what to do with your time off from work and/or studies this year? Well, here's an option: Global Volunteers is a nonprofit international development organization based in St. Paul, Minn., which coordinates more than 120 teams of North Americans who participate on shortterm human and economic development projects. They wrote to me to tell me about one of our classmates, Bryce Taylor, who spent his vacation time volunteering in the remote rural village of Pommern, Tanzania. He taught English and physics and helped with the construction of a multi-purpose school building. "I learned that fundamentally we are all the same deep down and have much in common," said Taylor. "This is the most important realization to furthering communication across language barriers." Taylor earned a philosophy degree from Dartmouth and is currently studying physics at Penn State.
If you are ever in the southern Vermont area, turn on your radio from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the morning to hear Grant Bosse and the rest of the "Smilin' Morning Crew" on XL92. Grant worked with the news team at WGIR Radio in Manchester for almost two years prior to his current job. He also writes a weekly political column which is published in papers around the state. OK, people, I've got nothing left, so I'm signing off. Thankfully, I have another wedding to go to in a couple of months, so at least I'll have something to write about. If you're sick of hearing about weddings, or you want to write about your own, I'll be happy to hear from you, as always. Take care and please please write.
