We just celebrated the commencement for the Dartmouth class of 2002 in Hanover. The sun was shining, the weather was outstanding and Fred Rogers '50 (Mr. Rogers) was the Commencement speaker. It was a "beautiful day in the neighborhood."

I received a copy of an article about Michael Dennis titled "Sweet Sound of Sales" that was featured in The New York Times on January 27. Michael is currently the group vice president of worldwide operations and services for Avaya Inc. located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. The article describes his experiences working for AT&T, his inclusion in Black Enterprise magazine as one of the top African-Americans in corporate America and the motivational skills he utilizes in the world of sales.

Greg Clow reports from Larkspur, California: 'After spending 20 years in the advertising business, and one year in the Web-development area, I have combined the two to start a business, Quick Campaigns (www.quickcampaigns.com). We offer small space advertising and direct marketing assistance to small businesses. Currently we have focused on the floral industry as a test market, and will later branch out to other markets." On a personal note Greg went on to say, 'Also, thanks to the Internet, I stay in touch with Paul Duder, Marshall Brown, Larry Dunn, Vince Pollard, Glenn Eide and several underclassmen almost daily. Great discussion group. Finally, my dad, John Clow '52, just got back from his 50th Dartmouth reunion, and said the campus, while growing, is as beautiful as ever."

From corporate America we have quite a few announcements. John Dodd recently joined the client services team of Friess Associates located in Greenville, Delaware. Since earning an M.B.A. at Columbia, John has worked for Fidelity Investments, New England Investment Associates, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Goldman Sachs & Cos. and The Boston Cos. He sounds like a man in high demand. Bom.com, located in Mountain View, California, has announced the addition of Chris Badger to its board of advisors. The news release states that Chris will offer advice on growing a sales infrastructure and building field relationships.

We still have classmates who are ringing wedding bells, including Charlie Huizenga, who married Jeanne Patek last January in the Bay Area. Congratulations, Charlie!

In Dartmouth alumni land our class is fortunate to have two members joining the Alumni Council this summer. Each of them will serve a three-year term. Karen McKeel Calby will represent the Head Agents Association and Bob Spears has been selected to serve as an at-large representative. Karen works in financial services for the Guggenheim Group, LLC, in New York City. Bob is the president of Poseidon Investments, LLC, in Rancho Sante, California.

That's all of the recent gossip we've heard that's fit to print. Please send us any updates you might have about classmates. We need some new material!
