Hi everyone! I hope spring has sprung where ever you are! Lots of news to report this month, so I'll jump right in! Kelley Kohout, Andy Garrison, Ryan Smerek, Bruce Kennedy and a few others spent a few nights at the Dartmouth Skiway cabin over New Years. "We ended up cruising the back roads of New Hampshire with a spanking new Jaguar with backpacks strapped to it after Hertz ran out and was forced to give us an upgrade. We climbed Mt. Moosilauke and did some skiing. It was a great time!"

Elizabeth Roberts sang the leading role of the countess in Mozart's opera the Marriage of Figaro at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, where she is finishing her master's degree as a scholarship student. Steven Fox is also completing his master's degree, conducting at the Royal Academy of Music. Steven is the first conductor to be accepted into this program from the College. He was the runner-up in the BBC Young Conductor's competition last year and will be conducting the BBC Singers this spring. He also completed his first recording with his St. Petersburg period-instrument orchestra, Musika Antiqua of St. Petersburg, and it will be released this year.

After a stint in New York as an account executive in public relations, Melanie Taylor has entered the teaching world and is now teaching English at Bartow High School in Florida. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Melanie is putting her journalism background to use as the school's newspaper and yearbook advisor.

Congratulations are in order for Devin Willis and Olivia Carpenter, who will graduate in May. Devin graduates from the University of Michigan's Law School and will be taking the Maryland bar this summer, while Olivia will graduate with her master's from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.

Mark Kim was in Pittsburg for an ultimate frisbee tournament and ran into some fellow Dartmouth alums. Unfortunately, Mark hurt his right shoulder while making a "hammer" throw (he insists it was for a score) and is now awaiting surgery at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, where, incidentally, Mark has been working as a consultant, developing methods to shorten emergency room wait times and increase overall efficiency.

Lifan Shen, Ron Kim and Rishi Sahay went ski- ing over New Year's in Vail, only to run into Mike Lee, Ray Long and Kyo Chin in the back bowls. Later that night at the famed Red Lion, they ran into Craig Davis '01 and Minh Le '01 and fun was had by all as they drank over old times.

Mike Lee's been busy: On a sunny weekend in Vermont Mike and ultimate frisbee teammate Jim Bailey performed a double proposal to their now respective fiancees Fuyuki Hirashima and Burlington local Laura White. Both ladies said yes. In other engagement news, I'm happy to report the engagements of Sarah Hess and Dave Morland, Amy Smith and Rob Mitchell and Cate Alderson and Gregg Edell. In addition, Betsy Beck is engaged to her boyfriend, Matt Brown, whom she met in Michigan, where she teaches elementary school. Matt surprised Betsy during a Valentine's Day trip to Chicago. And last, but certainly not least, Lindsay Bowen and Marcus Coe were engaged over President's Day weekend in snowy Vermont. Mascoma, Marcus' Bernese Mountain dog, is quite happy about the pending union! Congratulations to all the happy couples!

As always, please e-mail me what you're up to (even if it's not getting engaged—we want to hear about that too!).
