Hello '02s! Now that its been nearly a year since we graduated, people seem to have settled down, but keep the news coming. In March I went to Vail, Colorado, during my muchneeded spring break from veterinary school and met up with '02 s Kristin Shigley, Lauren Lafaro and Kara Buckley, who were all living and working in Vail. They were having a fantastic winter and spending plenty of time on the slopes.

Back on the East Coast, Justin Barnard wrote: "Jessa Block and I are currently living in Montpelier, Vermont. I'm working in Burlington through Ameri Corps, helping to plan a sustainable future for the city Jessa is working for the Vermont Medical Society where among other things she's learning how to lobby the Montpelier bigwigs. The most important update is that we recently got engaged and are planning a fall 2003 wedding!"

Caroline Marsden wrote: "I am living with Christina Weiland and Victoria Makol in Somerville, Massachusetts, and we work in the Boston area. Victoria works at the Massachusetts State College Building Authority, which builds and maintains all of the residence halls for the state colleges of Massachusetts. I have a bunch of graphic design and Internet publishing jobs, but my favorite is that I work for Boston Magazines art department. I work in the office there, and also shoot photographs of clubs and restaurants. Check out the March issue for an extra helping of my work."

Kerith Davies wrote: "I am living in N.Y.C. with Amanda Meigher and our friend from Colby. After getting frustrated with the corporate scene Amanda and I have discovered a new passion...tap dancing! We haven't quit our jobs yet but are working hard after hours to pursue our dream. We recently joined the Reggie and Sid Show, which is an amateur tap dancing club in the city and we are working on a new duet routine. If anyone comes to visit N.Y.C., we hope you come see our show!"

I also received the transcript of an article in the Lafayette Daily Advertiser featuring former Dartmouth ice hockey player Chris Talercio. Chris plays forward for the Louisiana Ice Gators, an East Coast Hockey League team. Talercio's performance at the start of the season was exceptional and he appears to be adjusting well to professional play.

Another Dartmouth athlete, Sarah West, has also continued in her sport, but as a coach. Sarah wrote that she was hired at George Washington University to start a varsity women's squash program and be the head coach of the team. Additionally, Sarah said she would start taking classes toward their M.B.A. program this spring.

Awhile back I also heard from Carolyn Swan. She wrote: "For the first half of summer, I worked as a teaching intern at St. Paul's School's advanced studies program, teaching 17-year-olds about ancient Greece. For the second part of summer (August), I was on board a research vessel and worked as part of an eight-person team, doing archaeological survey and excavation for the Smithsonian Institution, traveling along Quebec's lower north shore. Presently I am in Portland, Maine, working as an abstractor for a title company and am applying to begin my graduate degree in scientific archaeology next year."

Finally, Medea Allen wrote: "I'm doing an Ameri Corps program for a year in Providence, Rhode Island. Serving an under- and un-insured population, I'm working as a perinatal educator and doula (labor and birth attendant) through the Providence Community Health Centers Inc. I wanted to get my feet wet in the health world to make sure medicine is something I really want to pursue."
