Good news from or about classmates has been nonexistent so your scribe will resume the 50-year flashback and update to today. Continuing my screen of names to include those not in these notes for many years I came across this morsel from the April 1954 issue of DAM: "John Mitchell has finally succeeded in getting Audrey Meyer to say 'yes'! It will be a June wedding for the Leonia, New Jersey, miss if Socony Vacuum can find someone to sell its products in place of John." Moving forward to our 25 th yearbook John admits to a golf membership in a nearby club and in the 50th yearbook mentions a 12 handicap. John is retired from a long career with IBM and now lives in Venice, Florida. He and Audrey will celebrate the big 50 in Victoria, British Columbia, in the Empress Hotel at a high tea before departing on an Alaska cruise. In that same long ago issue we learned that Theane Christie and Ted Corsones were engaged to marry later that year. "Theane will pick up her pigskin at UCLA next year, while Ted, who hails from Rutland, Vermont, will finish up at Boston University Law School in time for a summer wedding." Moving ahead to 1976, Ted reported a growing law practice in Rutland, Theane blessing him by delivering three children, and his involvement in a lot of public service. Our 50th yearbook entry for him was very brief but had him and Theane still in Rutland and, yes, his shingle is still swinging.

Another quote from that same issue reads, "It is great news to hear that Brooks Dodge has finally been persuaded that there is room for a fair lady in his life, in addition to his skis. Ann Schafer said she'd allow skiis in the living room year 'round and is even studying law at Georgetown to protect Brooks in case he bums up Hells Highway." In the 50th yearbook he noted that he and Ann have two children and three grandchildren and are enjoying retirement in Jackson, New Hampshire. Those of us who attended the 50th reunion pan- el discussion remember Brooks' remarks about his career as a skier and ski resort owner. In the May 1954 issue Dave Leslie writes, "Al Wright has become engaged to Barbara Jean Hendrix of Augusta, Georgia. Al finished up at Thayer and is now with Dupont. Their wedding took place on February 27." In 1976, still with Dupont and now known as Alan, he remarked that he was "strug- gling to get his children through college." Sound familiar? In the 50th yearbook we read that he retired from Dupont after 41 years, endured two open-heart surgeries which gave him, he said, a better quality of life but did not improve his golf game. Plans for their 50th include a family party in Garden City; South Carolina, for their four children, spouses and seven grandchildren. Alan's favorite places included the Tower Room and the Nugget.
