Some exciting announcements first. Megan Riley wrote that she and Matt Kenney '04 were engaged on the Fourth of July under the fireworks on the mall in D.C.! They are planning a September 2006 wedding in Connecticut. Megan spent the summer working at AARP's Legal Counsel for the Elderly in Washington, providing free legal services to elderly, low-income D.C. residents. "I've been hanging out with Mike P. Hamilton and Frank Webb here this summer, both of whom are doing very well. In the fall I'm heading back to William and Mary Law for my final year of law school!" Word also came from Lara Santiago Renta of her engagement to Adam Dotson. "We just moved to Philadelphia. I am starting a Ph.D. in Spanish literature at the University of Pennsylvania in the fall and he is starting an M.F.A. in museum exhibition and design at the University of the Arts. So we'll be in school for a while!" Congratulations to both couples!

A very humorous update was sent in by Christopher Curran. "I'm finishing my two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco. Notable memories include visits by David Tepperman and Scott Wisniewski and nearly being sentenced for a month on bogus charges. Remarkably, these events were unrelated. 'Emerging' legal environment aside, I love the people and their hospitality. I'll be returning to Fez in September as a Fulbright scholar looking at the effects of free trade." Anne Jakle has also been awarded a Fulbright and will be heading to New Zealand in January. She'll be doing research on large hydropower systems while getting a master's at Massey University. Anne recently went to a crazy weekend reunion in Tahoe at the DOC cabin on Lake Mary. Also present were Emily Wroe, Megan Ganong, Jordan Schmidt, Emily Fetscher, Kelly Ramirez, Whitney Wilking and Kristen Sramek.

Bucknell University recently announced the hiring of Kisa Brannen as their new assistant softball coach. While at Dartmouth Kisa played catcher and first base and set many career records for the Big Green. "I come to Bucknell after two years, two championships and two trips to NCAAs at Canisius College. I just got back from an Italy tour with Canisius where the team played and I partied, Italian style, for two weeks. Bucknell should be fun and I plan to make some major improvements on the success of the team." Kisa's been keeping in touch with her old teammates, including Sarah Damon '02 and Lisa Caruso '04, and adds, "I'm looking forward to throwing down the gauntlet and initiating a 'Match of the Century' rematch with my partner Jaime Singley versus Charlotte Coultrap-Bagg and Laura J. Christman '02 in September here in Lewisburg."

In other sporting news, Matt Muffelman and

his teammates qualified for the World Rowing Championships, which were held in Gifu Japan, from August 28 through September 4. Matt captained the lightweight crew team as a junior and senior at Dartmouth. "Since graduation I've been training full-time for rowing at Riverside Boat Club in Boston and working part-time jobs to stay afloat." He is currently rooming with Adam Tapley, who is also spending his free time training seriously. Be sure to send an update on how things went in Japan, Matt!

Finally, John V. Campbell has been cropping up on Page 3 of ESPN.com again. They recently posted a question-and-answer session he had with Dijon Thompson of the Phoenix Suns as well as a feature on Baron Davis of the Golden State Warriors. I don't even like basketball and I thought these articles were interesting!
