Nov/Dec 2005Even as so much has changed for Dartmouth over the years, so much remains the same. Just look at the faces of the students, faculty and alumni in the scenes of the past century we've chosen to mark the 100th anniversary of Dartmouth AlumniMagazine. They are at the heart of our 40-page celebration. Although the campus has evolved, it would be easily recognizable to, say, a graduate of the class of 1905. He might be surprised by the diversity of the student population, but he'd feel right at home. It's as easy to imagine him studying in the stacks in 1962 (page 64) as it is to imagine a current student readying herself for Class Day with the seniors of 1917 (page 60). A photo captures only a moment, and those presented I here cannot tell the entire story of the last 10 decades. Nonetheless, I we hope this collection conveys the scope of the place, its people and its traditions, and that it chronicles a Dartmouth that is indeed undying.
