Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Centerhas the best work environment in NewHampshire, according to Business NH magazine's December 2004 issue. DHMC had previously ranked fifth and second in 2002 and 2003; it is the only hospital listed among "large companies."
The Dartmouth Regional Technology Center received a $2.6 million check fromNew Hampshire's economic developmentadministration in mid-December. In addition, the state's Community Development Finance Authority granted $1 million in tax credits to the planned 40,000- square-foot incubator facility that will sit on land at Centerra donated by the College. Construction slated to begin this spring will cost an estimated $4 million.
Dartmouth has been cited in a Booz AllenHamilton survey of leading scholarsas one of the world's most enduringinstitutions. One of 20 honorees, Dartmouth shared the academic spotlight with Oxford University. Others listed range from General Electric in business and commerce to the Salvation Army among nonprofits. Selections were based on seven criteria, the consulting firm said. Jonathan King, Tu'83, associate vicepresident for investments, has left theCollege to manage endowment funds forthe University of North Carolina. He came to Dartmouth in 1988 as associate investment officer.
