Admit it, now that we are of a certain age, music with comprehensible melodies and words are better appreciated than before. Rod Stewart, Merle Haggard and Queen Latifa, among others, are all peddling the 'American songbook" to our generation. Talking 'bout my generation. Frank Sinatra sings sentimentally of "very good years." According to Sinatra, ages 17, 21 and 35 are all very good years. But what comes after 35? The autumn of the year, when the days grow short! And all you can do is drink vintage wine from fine old kegs, all the way to the dregs! (Actually, that part sounds pretty good.) Folks, the calendar may say spring, but the autumn leaves are falling. So, plan now to attend our 25 th reunion this June in Hanover before winter catches you unaware and ices you in.
