Hey, reunion time: June 16- 18. Come stay in a dorm and drink bug juice. Actually, if you have not been to a reunion—and you don't want to miss your 19th—they are fun, especially from an anthropological point of view. Also, I don't know if you remember, but it's also very pretty at Dartmouth. But you would hardly know that from the brochures—all River Cluster.

Okay, now that my stand-up routine is over (I'm teaching a class on humor this semester, sorry) I have some other news to report. First of all, Todd Twachtmann, my former dormmate in Fayerweather, sent his first child off to college:

He writes: "My wife, Susan, and I have been living for the past 17 years in Marion, lowa, where I work for the largest local employer, Rockwell Collins. We are both originally from Marion. Rockwell Collins is a leading producer of avionics and cabin electronics for commercial and military airplanes, has about 15K people worldwide and has its corporate headquarters in Cedar Rapids, lowa. I am a senior director of engineering and manage roughly 500 engineers for the company and have moved between the business side and the technical side during my 17-year career. I oversee engineers in Cedar Rapids; Kirkland, Washington; Tustin and Pomona, California; and Chenai, India (through a partner).

"I can say with confidence that the dorm rooms have changed a bit from our days. The girls have high-speed Internet in the rooms, wireless across much of the campus, cable TV in the room (with HBO), microwaves and air conditioning. Of course, they have cell phones in addition to in-room phones. Upon dropping them off I briefly thought of sending them home and staying in the dorms myself. However, I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to school since I'm enjoying my work. Although I'm sure if I would have asked my wife, she would have gladly dropped me off in lieu of the kid(s)."

My other news is that I saw many and several Dartmouth people at a party hosted by Heather Myers and Tim Bixby; I think it was to raise money, but, thankfully, no one made me pay for the cheese I ate. I won't say I ate a lot, but I got a free subscription to Cow World in the mail a few days later. Also in attendance were Drew Desky, Kim Jacobs, Evan Azriliant, Sander Connolly. Bethany Rogers and Emil Chynn. I'm leaving people out but not because I'm a heartless rogue, but because I'm lazy and forgot to e-mail Heather and Tim later. The party was fun, and we stayed way beyond the 9 p.m. closing time. Sander, Bethany and I had a spirited discussion about politics and exciting new medical possibilities. It was sort of related.

I have either two more columns or 32 more columns—it's up to you guys.
