Writing this on a gorgeous August afternoon for consumption in November creates an insurmountable time block. Bill Hallager and his three daughters planned a twoweek trip to Scandinavia in September to visit the area where he grew up in Stockholm and Copenhagen. When this reaches you, the local October mini-reunion arranged by Joe Hayes will have been a successful bit of history. In remembering our freshman year, members of the marching band with whom I enjoyed playing included Manny Benero, Line Cain, Tom Harrington (deceased), Frank Healy (deceased), Neil Jorgenson. Dick Madison, Jeff Mills (deceased), Bob Nelson (deceased), Ned Pearson, Mike Pender, Dave Stahl and John Tower. A notable incident occurred in the fall of our freshman year on a trip to Boston for the Cornell football game, when Pete Brundage '45 (USMCR, deceased) lost a sousaphone between North Station and Fenway Park!
The sympathy of the class is offered to the families and friends of recently deceased classmates: Phil Booth, July 2; Tom Harrington, June 11; and John Wissig, November 11,2006.
Keep in touch.
