KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND is a freshman again
Gillibrand (right) recently made history by becoming Dartmouth s first alumna to win a seat in Congress. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (left) conducted a mock swearing in at the U.S. Capitol on January 4 as Gillibrand's husband, Jonathan, held the Bible. "Dartmouth taught me the power of our voices and instilled in me the knowledge that what we do with our time and talents matters," says the Democratic representative from New York. "Dartmouth's legacy will be carried with me each day I serve our nation." Gillibrand is serving on the House Agriculture and Armed Services Committees.
