Spring has finally arrived, but you'd never know it if you talked to some people in Texas—Mother Nature just isn't what she used to be; but, then again, neither are we.
Talked to George Kingbury recently. He and Midge are doing okay and, as always, sends his best regards. Received a lovely note, as usual, from my dearest friend Al Wolff. A] tells of spending the month of March in Bonita Springs, Florida, with his dear friend and lovely lady, Goldye "playing nine holes of golf every now and then. My golf game is terrible, but I figure at 90 it's a great day if I have the stamina to be still standing at the finish." Al, I hate to break it to you, but age has nothing to do with it—l feel that same way every day by 5 p.m. In his junior year Al roomed with Jerry Hockberg. He has maintained his friendship over the years—"In fact, we are closer than ever and we talk on the phone fairly often." Oh, and Al—I haven't changed one bit!
Sad news on the passing of 1938s men of Dartmouth: Edward Butler, Johnny Mercer, Grover Fox, Bob Forgan and Louis Kraft. Our deepest sympathy to their families.
Breaking news from yours truly: When I had the honor of meeting you way back in 1980 you all exclaimed that I was a "baby." You were probably right; however, your baby is catching up with you—just turned 60!
So, with that being said, I wish all of you a very happy birthday in the year 2007 and stayhealthy. Great plans for the 70th—you won't have to do much except sit back and enjoy yourselves.
