Increasing giving back is high a priority for many classmates going forward.

For instance in late April '66 classmates and spouses worked alongside nine Dartmouth undergraduates, two skilled craftsmen and the family that will occupy the dwelling on a Habitat for Humanity project in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Gary and Sharon Broughton, Stan and Judy Colla, Chuck Sherman and Margie Carpenter enjoyed the mini-mini-reunion, particularly the opportunity to chat with the current students during lunch.

Elsewhere, John Hargraves has completed a translation of Martin Geek's Bach: Life and Work, published by Harcourt Brace and deemed "impressive" by William F. Buckley Jr. in a New YorkTimes book review. The informal Gamma Delta Chi "Sons of September" quartet of Bill Bryan, Geoff Huck, Mike Schaile and Ted Temple held its second annual informal retreat at the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania last September (naturally) andgood news—"all escaped unhurt." Lots of Dartmouth green in Al and Jo Keiller's second grandson, Charles, born in September to the Keillers' daughter Mary Beth '93, Tu'00, and David Bluestein Tu'00.

Retirement update: Doug Scarff now lives in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, after retiring from the SEC in New York in 2006. Marty Adler left the U.S. Information Agency in 1998 and moved to Maui with his Brazilian wife, Helida, where they manage rental property and raise their two daughters, ages 11 and 13. For vacation rentals on Maui Marty may be your man (www.halepukalani.com).

Hector Motroni, riding in an open convertible, led the "Parade of Classes" during Homecoming Weekend last fall, as recognition for winning one of the Colleges Distinguished Alumni Awards. Hector officially received the prestigious citation at the annual dinner of the Dartmouth Club of Fairfield County in December. He joins two other '66ers—Bill Higgins and the late Fred Rosenblatt—to be honored for "long-standing and meritorious service to Dartmouth, with career achievement and community service as additional important dimensions." Hector was cited for his long career at Xerox, his contributions to Thayer School and his service on industry and academic boards of directors.
