Welcome back to your class notes, 'oss! By the time you read these, it will be two years since we graduated from D—it's hard to believe how fast time flies. I'm glad to report that our class remains as active as ever and I have a lot of great news to report.
Ourvery own Clint Hendler had a story in TheNation in March. Check it out at www.thenation.com/doc/20070319/hendler.
Liza Williams moved to Exeter, New Hampshire, to teach American and European history at the Phillips Exeter Academy. She ran her first marathon in Burlington, Vermont, at the end of May with Ben Phillips 04. She also updates, "I got a mad haircut that makes me look like a rock star!"
Ryan Tan wrote from Singapore as the platoon commander in an Armour battalion, after going through U.S. Army Armour Office basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He gives "a shout-out to all that are roaming around the girdled earth" and encourages anyone who wants to visit Singapore to drop him a line.
Kate Schuerman is in her second year of law school at Georgetown and spends her spare time "checking out D.C. sites and happy hours." She is looking forward to working in New York City this summer at Schulte, Roth & Zabel.
Also headed to law school this fall is Sylvia Chi, who will be attending the University of Maryland. Congratulations, Sylvia—though we'll miss you on the West Coast!
Meryl Richards will be headed to the University of Vermont as an '09 this fall to get her M.S. in plant and social sciences. Good luck, Meryl, and congratulations!
Congratulations are in order for Lauren (Raymond) Phelps, who was married to Willis Phelps on March 24 in Stowe, Vermont.
Also in school is Michael Bousquet, who writes to say that he is at Harvard Divinity School in the class of 2009.
I recently ran into Jocelyn (Woolworth) Mason at an event for the Dartmouth Club of Silicon Valley. Jocelyn is teaching elementary school in the San Jose area.
Misa Granis recently was hired at a new position and moved across the country to Port Washington, New York. Congratulations, Misa!
Also headed for a career change is Davey Archwamety. Currently happily employed as a Starbucks barrista, Davey is thinking about attending culinary school in the near future. I'm delighted to be able to report this, having tasted some of Davey's culinary creations previously (including a wonderful kimchee). Best of luck!
And, time for a little jealousy. Always the world traveler, Kirstin Ellison is planning a great vacation in Egypt for fall 2007. Accompanying her is likely to be Chanda Myrick, her traveling buddy since the two met on an LSA to Italy sophomore year. You guys better take pictures! That's all I have this month. Please keep sending me your updates and information about what your friends are up to—no news is too big or too small! Send me an e-mail, give me a call, mail me a letter or even text message me! And don't forget that you can send updates through our fabulous class Web site.
