The scarcity of news hardly makes it worthwhile to start this column for this issue of the MAGAZINE. However, we'll throw in the few items that we have and hope that the assistant editors (meaning you) will scare up voluminous amounts of news for the next issue. Otherwise the column will be faced with a lingering death due to starvation.

Here on the Univ. of Wisconsin campus, we recently bumped into George Stdrhe, much to our surprise. George hadn't been seen in these parts for some time and had been given up as graduated. Evidently, Starke had been in scholastic hibernation for he recently emerged with an M.S. in Geology. When last seen, he was just leaving with his wife for a job in California, having landed a nice spot there with Standard Oil.

In early March, Bob Widke rolled into town to see the final basketball game between Wisconsin and Ossie Cowles' Minnesota team. (Cowles got beat incidentally). Bob has taken a semester off from school to go to work for Allis-Chalmers of Milwaukee in their engineering department. He plans to come back to school for his degree in the fall. Bob sends his regards to all of his former Dartmouth friends.

The matrimonial bureau adds a few items to our meager column. Recently, the engagement of Marjorie Crosby was announced to Harold Foster in Montclair, N. J. Hal, incidentally, got his degree from Colgate and is currently working for the Robinson Clay Products Company in Bloomfield, N. J. The engagement o£ Miss Phyllis Noe of Dayton to Norm Pfiomrn was announced in early February. Norm is at present working towards his master's degree in the Columbia University School o£ Business. According to a belated report port, vows were exchanged on January 8 between Miss Sandra Meddaugh and TonyOrlen in Webster, N. Y. We have no word on what Orlen is doing for a living these days.

Well, there it is. Short and not too sweet. The mailman had better be a good friend of ours between now and the next deadline.
