As I write this column (early December 2007) Louise and I recently returned from a Hindu wedding ceremony held in D.C. Quite an interesting but lengthy formal affair of some three hours duration held on our Thanksgiving. A recent phone conversation with Bob Gray found him at home and with Susie planning a trip to Washington, D.C., to spend Christmas with son and family. Talked to Bud Miskell following receipt of his e-mail recounting a visit with one of the 50 Dartmouth Squadron Army Air Corps WWII members, Craig Beedle '46. Bud was looking forward to hearing the Dartmouth Ares, who were making a Cape Cod Dartmouth club appearance at the Christmas luncheon. He added that three Falmouth, Massachusetts, area high/prep school students who are early acceptances to the College will be on hand. Bing Donaldson continues to handwrite long letters on behalf of his class agent duties (a guy who spent his career with IBM but won't use a computer) and deserves your kudos for his dedication to what at times has to be a frustrating job. I'm grateful for the news he occasionally passes on to me with respect to a long-silent '43. In case you missed it our 65th reunion is this fall, September 26-28. We will be guests of the College at the Hanover Inn! Oh yes, Louise and I became "greats" last November, thanks to granddaughter Stephanie and husband. One death to report, Chuck Longfield. Our condolences to his family. Keep well!
