Our fearless leader and class president Greg Fell sends this update from Carni Vail, which took place this March at Vail, Colorado. He recommends that you all consider putting this on your calendar for next year. Attending this year from our class were Greg Fell, Mickey Stuart, Peter Pratt, Dave Merritt, Buck Allen and Lon Gregg.

Greg reported that Lon Gregg is finishing up his 19th year at the Denver Rescue Mission (www.denverrescuemission.org), currently head minister. The Denver Rescue Mission provides food, shelter and clothing, along with practical programs of education, Christian teaching and work discipline with the aim of returning the poor, needy and homeless to society as self-sufficient, productive citizens. Lon notes that for their 38th anniversary he and spouse Janet will be giving each other a fourth grandchild—"We like the price tag on these," he says.

Albert Lamarre writes in that after more than 20 years at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, California, he has retired! It sounds strange to say "retired" so instead he is just saying that he is moving on to the next chapter of his life. That chapter will include much travel overseas, some volunteering, maybe some consulting and if he gets bored he can always work as a cowboy on his brother-in-law's cattle ranch in Wyoming! And he will have more time to ride his Harley, too! Twin brother Bob is still working in the oil and gas business, where he is a partner in Black Diamond Minerals in Denver.

Jack Burnett took some time out from his productive efforts to reinstate Beta to report some weird news: He recently went fishing in Venezuela with Dimitri Gerakaris '69, Roger Grimes '70 and Bill Holekamp '70 (his yacht). One of the fishing/deckhands on the crew was a young (25) half-Irish American, half-Costa Rican guy named Patrick O'Connell. He was telling Jack that his father, who is a legendary character in Costa Rica, had a book written about him called Goldwalker by Scott Anderson. When Jack got back to the States and ordered the book on eßay, it turned out that the seller is also the author. Then he read the book jacket and discovered that the author went to Dartmouth. A little further research and correspondence and he realized that the author was none other than Theta Delt Scott Anderson. Small world indeed. (And great book—people should buy it from Scott.)

Kim Krostue reported that his daughter Lauren will join Dartmouth Tuck class of 2010. After Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Texas and four years working at Marriott Corporate HQ she is off to Tuck.

On a sadder note, we received word that two classmates passed away: Martin Kinsey and Duane Bird Bear. Keep the news coming!
