Sanjay Gupta '96, Vanessa Berberian '99 and Andrew Rotenberg '92 serve as leadership for the Dartmouth Club of London, an area in which more than 400 of our alums reside. The Dartmouth Club of London stakes its claim for being the oldest and largest of our international clubs. If you're in London check the Web site for the location of a standing pub night. Rotenberg is currently a partner at the law firm of Jones Day, where he focuses in the area of business restructuring and reorganization. Other Jones Day attorneys throughout the world are also involved in our alumni clubs. Dennis Drapkin '68 serves on the executive committee for the Dartmouth Club of Dallas and, beyond his work in helping to direct the tax and executive compensation practice of Jones Day, he has spent time on the Alumni Council nominating committee, committee on trustees and a number of other positions. Some more alums at Jones Day are Tom Hackney '03, Mark Cody '92 and Eric Berlin '89 in Chicago, Tamar Tal Yedenfreund '00 in California, Mike Graham '70 in Houston and Reza Odouli '97 in Munich. Adrierine Draper '04 organized a wonderful young alumni martini night that was fun and successful held in late March at a funky downtown locale for the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D.C.The all-you- can-drink martinis concept was well received by the close to 40 young alums participating in the evening. Adrien-ne is organizing a great boat trip for the young alums of D.C. this spring. Amy Westpfahl Lutzky '96 wrote of the Dartmouth Club of Maryland's health policy event held in early March. The event was organized by Frank Chase '55, a former president of the club and leader in alumni affairs through a number of positions through the years. It was Frank's energy and enthusiasm that brought to the club a very impressive lineup of speakers, which included U.S. Senator for Maryland Benjamin Cardin; John Colmers, secretary of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; Dr. Peter Beilenson, Howard County health officer; and Dr. Martin Wasserman, executive director of MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society. An idea for other clubs to use: Beth Krakower '93, as president of her class and a member of the executive board of the Dartmouth Club of New York City, has worked with club vice president Shannon de Castro '00 to contact clubs in areas in which her class has a high alumni presence—and notifies class members of those events. It has led to some great turnout for events in some areas and served as a method for cheap mini-class reunions. President Betsy Booth Scalco '87 reports that the Dartmouth Club of the Piedmont recently held an event called Stars Night. Steve Danford '67 is a professor of astronomy at UNC Greensboro, which shares use of the largest telescope in the Southeast. The club held an evening event at the observatory and was guided through the heavens by Steve, who gave everyone a chance to view Mars, Saturn and many deep-sky objects through the telescope while he educated the group on what they were seeing. The Piedmont club has recently revived its young alum group with the leadership of Sarah Kate Fishback '02 using the club's e-mail list and Facebook to advertise its first, recent event. A quick review of several club Web sites shows that Facebook is becoming a more common method of outreach to our alums. Sarah is currently a student at Duke's Fuqua School of Business after having spent time working at Google and You Tube.
