Hi '06s! Congratulations to Alana Finley and Jordan Edmonson on their engagement! The couple, who metwhile living on the same freshman floor, are planning a May wedding to be held in Alana's hometown in California. They also recently moved from Washington, D.C., to Dallas, Texas. Jordan is in graduate school in music at the University of North Texas and Alana is an analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
Congratulations also to Ben Lovejoy, who made his NHL debut playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Buffalo Sabres on December 8. Ben has been playing with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL, where he has been a leader in points and scoring.
Ryan McAnnally-Linz's nonprofit custom apparel company, Just Apparel, was accepted as a member of the Fair Trade Federation. Ryan started Just Apparel with the support of a Lombard Fellowship from the Dickey Center and as a project of the not-for-profit International Humanitarian Foundation, which was founded by David Morse '03 and Amish Parashar '03.
World Partners in Education, an education nonprofit founded by Ben Schwartz, held a successful kick-off party in December. The organization "currently serves 500 students in Pap-Onditi, Kenya, and Kpone Barrier, Ghana. Through our partnerships we're improving the quality and accessibility of education in these communities by offering teacher incentives, student awards, facility upgrades, appropriate learning and teaching materials, programs for parents and mentoring by volunteers." Ben would love help from classmates interested in helping in any capacity.
As always, I hope you're doing well and look forward to hearing your news and updates!
