Art in the Era of Alexander the Great

Art historian Ada Cohen examines works produced in Macedonia during the reigns of Philip II, his son Alexander the Great and their immediate successors. Cohen focuses on three masculine themes—warfare, hunting and abduction of women. Cohen’s text is structured around paintings and mosaics, both secular and funerary, from northern Greek sites.
