The Dartmouth Club of Philadelphia has been hard at work planning many events for the spring and summer months. It had a very successful gathering of alumni and parents of current students in March to see The Lorax. The club will be holding several other family-friendly events in the upcoming months. First on the schedule club members will attend a concert in late June with the Philadelphia Orchestra, where the orchestra will be playing selected music to accompany the screening of Fantasia. This event will take place in the same building where the orchestra recorded the original soundtrack, so this will be a memorable night. The Dartmouth Club of Philadelphia will be attending a Phillies game in late June, with thanks to “tailgate master” Chris Collier ’03. A summer night at the ballpark is always a great event and is sure to bring in a great group of alumni and friends. Club president Heidi Immesberger ’06 noted that the club is looking forward to a summer that includes berry picking and happy hour events. The summer activities will conclude with a celebration send-off for the local students in the class of 2016, which will be hosted by Jim Nutt ’66 and his wife, Betsy.
The next club update comes from the Dartmouth Club of St. Louis. This club held a spring happy hour event at J. Buck’s in Clayton, Missouri, where alumni and friends gathered for some tasty beverages and engaging conversation. Club president Ken Bower ’94 commented that this club is looking forward to welcoming football coach Buddy Teevens ’79 and expects more than 50 attendees at this event, which will be held at Rams Park. Kevin Fleming ’95 and Kevin Demoff ’99 have done a fantastic job coordinating the event, which is sure to be a success.
Back to the East Coast for an update from the Dartmouth Club of Southwestern New Hampshire. This club celebrated its 100th anniversary this past fall at its annual meeting. Professor Jere Daniell ’55 spoke to the attendees about what was happening at Dartmouth 100 years ago, when the club was founded. This club also participated in its annual community service project in late April, when members assisted with the cleanup of the grounds of the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, New Hampshire. Club co-president Roger Han- sen ’65 noted that the site was constructed in memory of Sanderson Sloane ’39, who died in World War II, and honors the men and women of the armed services. From the outdoor chapel and gardens you have a beautiful view of Mount Monadnock and you can also enjoy the museum and bell tower that are on the site.
Keep the updates coming! Send in news from your club about exciting events that you are hosting and the alumni that are volunteering their time to make them successful.
