Christmas cards from Ruth and HerbertCallman, Ellen Hinman, Sally Johnson, George W. Lewis, Ann Manning, Hope and Ned Robinson, and Marion Woods, brought these bits of news. Replying to a request for news about herself Ruth Streeter has written: "At the moment I am really working quite hard on the details of settling Tom's estate, which is somewhat complicated by the need of carrying out his wishes about his unusual collection of Americana. It will be sold by the Parke-Bernet Galleries at a series of auctions beginning next October and probably lasting for three years. Tom always said that he had so much fun picking up individual books at auction that he would like other people to have the same pleasure in the disposal of his collection."
Robbie writes "I recovered from an attack of asthmatic bronchitis which has kept me in bed for about two weeks, in time to be around to enjoy our Christmas festivities. Our two granddaughters were here, the married one with her husband, a former football player at Lehigh. He is an interesting lad and I enjoy his company. Hope is pretty well and I am well on my way back to par."
