A poem by J. T. Merrick, which was read by him at the public services in connection with the dedication of the soldiers' monument on Memorial Day at Holbrook, Mass., is printed in the souvenir program of that occasion.

Dr. E. C. Dudley, the eminent specialist of Chicago, received the degree of Doctor of Laws in November, 1916, from Grinnell College. He is also entitled to wear a pair of oak leaves embroidered on his shoulder, as a major in the Officers Reserve Corps, Medical Section, United States Army..
