The 1917-18 Dartmouth basketball team has established a record, probably unique in college history—that of having lost every game of its schedule. From the beginning of the Christmas trio through the game with New Hampshire State to the final struggle against Colgate it held consistently to its form, and in only one, in a game against Pennsylvania. which,' incidentally leads the league this year, did the Green ever threaten to become formidable.

The defeats can be explained on several grounds. First and foremost, was the maintenance of a formal sport, although several of the best men were in the service, and Captain Rau was unable to play. And the second reason may have been the coaching—the resignation of Coach Walker having been accepted after the twentieth consecutive loss.
