"The First Six Books of the AEneid of Vergil", by Professor Harry E. Burton has recently been published by Silver, Burdett and Company. This book, as the author states in his preface "is intended to supply all the material needed for the study of Latin poetry as it is ordinarily conducted in secondary schools." As translation at sight is receiving more and more attention, Professor Burton has added passages from later books of the AEtieid and passages from other authors. Besides the text the book contains a brief introduction, over two hundred pages of valuable notes, which show in a small measure the amount of work covered by the editor in preparing this volume, and an extensive vocabulary.
