Dartmouth College opened September 25th for its one hundred and fifty-first year with a largely increased faculty. Of the recent appointments 32 men are teaching at Dartmouth for the first time, and 5 are returning after a period of absence. Of the new faculty members, eight are in the English Department, four in the Department of Romance Languages, four in Economics, two in Political Science, two in Education, two in Mathematics, two in. Latin, one each in the Departments of Physics, German, Chemistry, Biology, Graphics, History and Psychology. Four are in the Tuck School, two in the Medical School, and one in Thayer School.
Although the student enrollment is back almost to normal and that of the Freshman class is the largest in the history of the college, the increase in Faculty members has more than kept pace with this student increase. The following appointments have been made in the departments indicated:—
