A gift of $5000 to the Ledyard Canoe Club of Dartmouth has been made by Rev. J. E. Johnson '66 as a permanent memorial to the late Melvin O. Adams '71. The gift will be utilized for the building of a chain of cabins to accommodate canoe men northbound on the Connecticut River.
The first cabin will be situated on the island at the junction of the Ammonoosuc River and the Connecticut, a tract which was also purchased by Mr. Johnson for the use of the club. It will provide accommodations for 10 persons with supplies available for overnight parties. The design of the hut will be essentially similar to that of the Outing Club cabin at Glencliffe, N. H.
