During the last few months Dartmouth was represented at inaugurations and commencements in several institutions of learning as follows: On February 7 by Professor Lindley R. Dean '09 of Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana, at the inauguration of President Aley of Butler College, Indianapolis, Ind.; on April 27-29 by Walter S. Adams '98 of the Carnegie Institution of Washington Observatory, Pasadena, Cal., at the inauguration of President von Klein Smid of the University of Southern California; on May 14-17 by Professor William S. Messer of Dartmouth at the seventh centenary of the founding of the University of Padua, Italy; on May 20 by Dr. Don C. Bliss '92, superintendent of schools in Montclair, N. J., at the inauguration of Dr. Edwards of the Hill School, Pottstown, Pa. ; on June 5 by Rev. Charles F. Robinson '90 of Bangor Theological Seminary at the 50th anniversary commencement of the University of Maine, where Mr. Robinson was one of the speakers; on June 10 by Professor Edward P. Bartlett 'OB, of Pomona College, Claremont, Cal., at the inauguration of President Bird of Occidental College; on June 13 by Dean Craven Laycock '96 at the inauguration of President Moody of Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vt.; on June 13 by Professor Wilbur M. Urban of Dartmouth at the 100th anniversary of the founding of Hobart College, Geneva, N. Y. ; and on June 17-21 by Professor James O'Neill '07 of the University of Wisconsin at the 75th anniversary of the founding of Beloit College.
