COLLEGE OFFICES NOW EQUIPPED WITH PBX TELEPHONE SERVICE
November, 1924

At the opening of college this fall the first unites of the private branch exchange telephone service for which the College contracted in the spring were placed in operation. Several trunk lines have been installed running to the pbx switchboard which is located at the Hanover Inn under the general supervision of its manager, Mr. A. P. Fairfield.

Many additional instruments have been installed' in the various buildings, the unit for service in general being the department instead of the building as in the past. In many cases code ringing has been adopted so that each member of a department has his own personal ring. The branch exchange is listed in the local directory under Dartmouth College, the number being, 30.
