PROFESSOR FOSTER'S ARTICLE APPEARS AS COLLEGE REPRINT

Dartmouth College Reprint Number Five has just appeared, being an article by Professor H. D. Foster entitled 'Webster's Seventh of March Speech and the Secession Movement, 1850.". The article is provided with a foreword by Nathaniel Wright Stephenson, author of "Lincoln, An Account of His Personal Life" and other important historical researches. The article by Professor Foster is reprinted from the American Historical Review of January, 1922, and is considered an important interpretation of a much contested point in Webster's career. The new light thrown upon Webster's motives and the results of his Seventh of March Speech will tend to modify the writings of previous historians in this field. The reprint may be obtained at a cost of twenty-five cents through the office of the Treasurer of the College.
