The twentieth annual meeting of the Thayer Society was held at New York on January 15th. Forty six members and guests were in attendance. The. secretary's report showed the Society to be in a flourishing condition, with 407 members. The treasurer announced the annual gift of the Society to Thayer School of $1000 for current expenses and $500 to be added to endowment.
Professor Fletcher delivered an interesting and inspiring address on General Thayer and his ideals. Professor Holden spoke briefly on the opportunities of the engineer and announced a gift of $10,000 for the purpose of providing scholarships to Thayer School men.
The speaker of the evening was Mr. Clement R. Chase, assistant chief engineer of the Delaware River Bridge Joint Commission, who delivered an illustrated address on the problems of design and construction of the Delaware River Bridge.
