String Hale, assistant state forester for New Hampshire, dropped in at Hanover the other day while giving his territory the usual spring once over.

Gene Prentice had a narrow escape last fall in a head-on automobile - smashup. He has recovered from his injuries, returned to work, and has been promoted to a vice-presidency by the directors of the National Bank of Commerce.

Harry Harriman has lately been representing his company on several committees in the Manufacturers' Research Association in the preparation of codes of standard practice. He recently presented to the Thayer School men in Hanover the results of one such study on

"The Duties of a Plant Engineer." Art Lewis has presented a paper before the Engineering Section of the National Safety Council on "The Use of Lift Trucks in Safe Handling of Material."

Bill (William D.) Knight is breaking records out in Rockford. On April 8 he won the Republican nomination for state's attorney by the largest plurality ever recorded in a contest in his county. He carried 43 out of 49 city precincts besides a majority of the county precincts.
