The annual meeting of the. Alumni Association of Western Massachusetts was held at Holyoke May 17. The meeting began with an all-day golf tournament at the Mount Tom Country Club, in which the first gross prize was won by J. B. Ramage '14, with Ben Ayers, Jr. '20 second. Ernest Pope '23 obtained the first net prize, and C. K. Litchard '21 the second.
In the evening the banquet took place at the Hotel Nonotuck. Rev. John H. Nolan 04, president of the association, was toastmaster, and was introduced by Clifford S. Lyon '10 of the Dartmouth Club of Holyoke More than 100 men were present, including fourteen students who were making the annual canoe trip from Hanover to Long Island Sound. A pleasant feature of the gathering was the singing of several selections by Miss Rose Desrosiers, a promising soprano of Holyoke, who returne from New York to sing as the guest of the association. There were also the singing of college songs and selections by Dick Major's Hanover Orchestra.
The principal speakers of the evening were Governor Channing H. Cox '01 and Prof. E. Gordon Bill, dean of freshmen.
The dinner arrangements, which were highly satisfactory, were in charge of a committee consisting, of C. H. Kent '10. C. S. Lyon '10, J. E. Holmes '02, and M. D. Pomeroy '14.
