Continuing at the dizzy pace set in its first game of the season the Dartmouth team, preparatory to its invasion of Cambridge, completely submerged the representatives of the University of Maine by a score of 56 to 0. The game was played on Memorial Field, Hanover, October 17.

Lane and Oberlander opened the attack for Dartmouth after Maine, following the opening kick-off had been forced to punt. Alternating in carrying the ball these two Green backs gained 70 yards in nine plays, Oberlander registering dashes of 15 yards and 32 yards. Lane made the touchdown. The second touchdown followed a similar drive down the field after Tully had run back the kick-off 26 yards. Oberlander, .who scored the touchdown, repeated a few moments later after rushes in which he advanced the ball nearly 50 yards in three plays.

The fussilade of scoring continued for the duration of the game until eight touchdowns had been recorded. Tully was successful in acquiring six of the possible eight points after touchdowns. Peakes, of Maine, was forced to recover the ball behind his own goal line, during the second period, scoring a safety which gave Dartmouth two additional points.

Although four Dartmouth regulars were on the sidelines throughout the, game the Green team displayed great power, advancing the ball 328 yards and accumulating 18 first downs during the first half of. the contest which closed with Dartmouth leading at 36 to 0.. Frequent substitutions somewhat weakened the Dartmouth attack in the shortened periods of the second half.

McAvoy, substituting for Lane, proved of great worth to the Green team in this game. Oberlander led the scoring by crossing the Maine goal for four touchdowns. Tully scored two touchdowns and Lane and Reece one each.
