Newman Montross Horton of Peekskill, N.Y., fullback of this year's remarkable football team, has been elected to captain the 1926 Dartmouth football team. The election took place in Hanover November 19.

Horton was regular fullback on this fall's eleven and was the chief defensive man behind the line. The records show that he made more tackles than any other man on the squad and not only was he outstanding in backing up the line, but also he was a capable interferer for the speedy halfbacks and was the most dependable line-plunger on the squad.

Horton prepared for Dartmouth at his local high school and won his numerals on the 1927 freshman football eleven. Last year he was second string fullback to Leavitt and won his letter in the Cornell game at the Polo Grounds.

Horton is a member of the Green Key and belongs to the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He has also been active in lacrosse, the newest sport at Dartmouth.
