The March MAGAZINE noted the appointment of Luther C. White as sales manager and purchasing agent of the Atlanta federal prison. On March 25 he was promoted to the position of superintendent of prisons. Upon taking, the oath of office he said that every federal prisoner should be a producer in order that he may help himself and also help to render the federal prison system selfsupporting. He will have about ten thousand prisoners under his charge, and the attorney general will ask Congress for authority to establish diversified industries at the Leavenworth and Atlanta prisons in order to carry out his ideas.
