OK, by the time you read this it will be really REALLY old news, but I'd just like to report that my summer officially became obsolete on June 19. It was on that date that I happened to be in New York City and got to see the opening ceremonies of the Women's World Cup. I was a mere three rows up from the field, which meant that, yes, I could have leaned over and touched Alia Hamm at one point (I resisted the overwhelming urge). However, what was much more exciting than all that was the fact that I got to see 'N Sync perform! So now I'm just like every tenyear-old girl in this country. Stop my world, I want to get off!

Since my life has hit such rock-bottom proportions, this would be a good time to bring you up to speed on other classmates whose lives have made turns for the better.

Jen Sandoval and her husband Mike Faherty can now be referred to as Mommy and Daddy, thank you. Jen had Isabel Sandoval Faherty on June 29, and says without bias that the child is VERY CUTE! Knowing both parents, I can safely say that Isabel gets that from her mother.

Christiane Pein is also a mother, as she gave birth to Anika Lucie on April S. While she is not quite as excitable as Jen, Christiane will say that she and (gasp!) non Dartmouthite husband Steven Bull are very, very happy parents. The trio is living in Seattle and working as architects (well, the parents are the kid is still in training). Christiane also reported on Maria Veniard, who was married last November to (gasp!) non-Dartmouthite Mark Bearieault and now lives with him in SanFran. Joining Christiane in the wedding party was Elizabeth Cavanaugh, who is working for a law firm in D.C. after doing a Supreme Court justice clerkship.

Wedding bells for Krysia Carmel, who married (gasp!) non-Dartmouthite Rob Nelson with Heidi Steinmetz Lovette looking on approvingly as a bridesmaid. Krysia is practicing law in Charlottesville, Va., under this motto: horses, houses, crimes, and commerce—in other words, equine law and federal criminal defense (so far, she is happy to report, there has been no crossover in clientele!). Heidi, by the way, was due way back in May, so I'll need confirmation there. But according to Krysia, the Dartmouth baby paraphernalia has been well-stocked!

According to Joanne Hwang, wedding bells are on the way for CourtneyDickinson, who plans to marry David Grayzel in May 2000. She has left Sapient and struck out on her own, although she still does some work for them. Joanne, meanwhile, is going to work for a federal judge in Chicago. Among others she reported on: Robyn Schwartz (my former next-door neighbor), who is working for Charles Schwab in SanFran and enjoying life with her new dog Max; Amy Burroughs, who left D.C. for SanFran to begin work at a health-care technology startup; LeslieSegal, who finished her pediatrics residency in Philly this summer and will begin a fellowship in Seattle this year in cancer and blood disorders; and Jeff and Jill (Ludke)Dixon, who are also heading to Seattle to work for Amazon.com.

Finally, something to look out for. According to Daily Variety Gotham in L.A., be on the lookout for an NBC sitcom this fall boasting the class of '92's one and only Commercial Girl, Aisha Tyler! Aisha, if you get Mia Hamm and 'N Sync on your show I will DEFINITELY watch!!.
