Miss Leslie Taylor, a talented violinist who is making her home in Hanover this year, gave a very delightful concert in Robinson Hall on March 20. She was accompanied by Prof. M. F. Longhurst.

The Rev. Dr. Howard J. Chidley '06 was the chapel speaker on Sunday March 22.

Dr. William R. P. Emerson, whose conditioning methods were so successful in the training of the football team last fall, spoke on "Modern Methods of Athletic Training and Conditioning" during the latter part of March.

Prof. E. A. White was a speaker at a meeting of the New England division of the American Radio League in Worcester, Mass., April 3 and 4.

Miss Marion Dodd of the Hampshire Book Shop in Northampton addressed The Arts on April 14 on the history of her bookshop and the place of a bookshop in the community.

Prof. A. W. Vernon preached at the union service of the protestant churches of Hanover on Good Friday night.

Tony Sarg and his marionettes were in Hanover again April 13 and presented "Treasure Island" to a highly appreciative audience.

Richard Hughes, one of the better known of the young English writers, delivered a lecture on "The Aesthetic of Poetry" on April 9 under the auspices of The Arts.

Count Alfred Korzybski, Polish philosopher, mathematician, sociologist and author gave two lectures on "Time Binding" on April 10. He also came to Hanover at the invitation of The Arts.

Dr. M. A. Harrington, consultant in mental hygiene of the College, has been appointed a member of the National Committee on Mental Hygiene of which President Hopkins is also a member.

Miss Mary Potter, a contralto who has appeared several times with the New York Symphony Orchestra, gave a pleasing recital in Robinson Hall April 14. She was accompanied by Miss Marion Carlyle who was also heard as a soloist.

In connecion with the graduation exercises of the Thayer School and under the joint auspices of Thayer School and the Dartmouth Scientific Association, Dr. Frederick H. Newell, former director of the United States Reclamation Service, gave an illustrated lecture on "Conservation of our Water Resources," Wednesday evening, April 15.

The Eastern Conference of Instructors in Public Speaking was held in New York city April 14. Prof. James A. Winans and Mr. W. E. Utterback attended, the latter delivering an address on "The Psychology of Persuasion."

Robert Frost paid another visit to Hanover on April 16 and read several of his poems.

Professor N. M. Grier of the Department of Evolution will be in charge of the course in Field and Systematic Botany, at the Biological Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor, N. Y., during the coming summer session.
