It was a spirited hockey game which Dartmouth and Yale presented for the delectation of 7500 spectators at Madison Square Garden, New York, Jan. 12. Both teams showed an exceptionally strong defense and Dartmouth s lone tally was not recorded until the middle of the third period when McPhail, playing right defense, slid the puck the length of the rink, breaking through a guardianship of the Yale goal which until then had been impenetrable. He made a short pass to Mills, who was directly in front of the cage, and in a position to score with a deft, quick shot.
Yale's nearest approach to a score came in the second period when Captain Potts carried the rubber to the Dartmouth goal and missed the net by only the smallest margin.
Lane and Everett, of Dartmouth, and Ives, of Yale, were the outstanding players of the evening.
