The cornerstone box of the Fisher Ames Baker Memorial Library was put in place September 2. The cornerstone of Dartmouth's new library is located on the east side of the main entrance to the building. Professor Charles N. Haskins, chairman of the faculty committee on the library, was in charge of the installation and in the presence of the architect, Jens Fredrick Larson, the treasurer of the College, Halsey C. Egerton 'O6, representatives of the administration and members of the HegemanHarris Construction Company, sealed the box in a crevice beneath the cornerstone.

The box, which was made of copper about 18 inches long by 10 inches wide by 5 inches deep, contains the following:
