The Winter Sport program of events which featured the Dartmouth Outing Club's 17th annual Winter Carnival was won this year by the New Hampshire University team which outscored Dartmouth by the margin of 36 to 2&/2 points. Following New Hampshire and Dartmouth was the McGill team which scored 12 points, St. Bona venture with 8 points, and Williams with 3½ points.

St. Bonaventure's eight points were all scored in the skating events of the first day of the Carnival at the end of which time New Hampshire and Dartmouth trailed a point behind this total. Van Nortwick, of St. Bonaventure, accounted for these eight points by winning the 440 yard dash and placing second in the two mile race. Tetly, of New Hampshire scored seven points for his team by winning the two mile race and taking third place in the 440. For Dartmouth Laffey scored second place in the 440 yard event and third in the two mile, and Ryan placed fourth in the latter event.

At the end of the second day of competition the Dartmouth team led the field with a total of 19½ points, New Hampshire following closely at 16 points, and McGill accounting for 9. C. N. Proctor '28, captain of the Dartmouth team, won both the ski proficiency contest and the one mile downhill ski race closely followed by Pederson, of New Hampshire who placed second in both events. Proctor continued his heavy scoring for Dartmouth by winning first place and five more points in the ski-jumping contest on the final day of Carnival. Proctor's jumps averaged 112 feet, while 111 feet was the average attained by Pederson, of New Hampshire, his closest competitor. In the judges' ratings for style in jumping Pederson was awarded 17.9 points to 17.7 for Proctor. However, when the total of points for both distance and style had been computed Proctor was found to have nosed out Pederson by a narrow margin. The longest jump, 121 feet, was made by Pederson. Proctor's best jump was 117 feet. Whittemore, of Dartmouth won third place and Weston, of New Hampshire, fourth in this event.
